Jimmy Palmer, Jr. Obituary

James Townsend (Jimmy) Palmer, Jr was born on September 1, 1982 at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma to James Townsend, Sr. and Patricia Maria (Ashcraft) Palmer. He passed away June 19, 2018 at the age of 35. Jimmy grew up in Newalla and attended Braggs Schools.

During his short life he touched so many hearts and there are no words to express how much he will be missed. God blessed Jimmy with many talents. To mention a few, as a child he became proficient in playing baseball. He loved country music and karaoke. His voice could match any of today’s country singers. He also had a talent for pencil sketching. Unfortunately, he didn’t put pencil in hand often enough. He competed in Rodeo for a time and had a great love for dogs. Jimmy was a Christian and during his life, he depended on his faith to carry him through rough times. He was also very caring of others and he never ended a conversation without saying, “I love you.” If only we could hear “I love you” one more time.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Skyy Faith Palmer, father, James Palmer, Sr., his mother, Patricia Palmer, stepfather Leon Shackleford, sisters, Karena and her husband, James Herron, Lori Palmer; brother Kalib Mcelhaney, Aunts' Debbie Davis, Vicki Palmer and Dianne Bullock, Uncles' Lou Ashcraft and Jimmy Rogers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly. A private memorial service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
