James Truman Martin, Jr. “Jim” was born on November 12, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Truman, Sr. and Minnie Bernette (Clark) Martin.  He passed away on June 26, 2017 in Chandler at the age of 81. 

Jim lived life to the fullest.  He left the farm in Parkland and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with a tour in the Korean War.  Upon returning home he spent time drag racing where he amassed a collection of trophies.  He then worked as a police officer in Ada and later in El Reno for the next 10 years.  He worked in the oil field and eventually owned and operated M & M Construction with his son, building homes in Lincoln County until his retirement.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ethel Glander and Kay West.  Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Wanda Jo Martin of the home; son, James Truman Martin, III and his wife, Donna of Chandler; (2) grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Brittany Johnson; (5) great-grandchildren, R.J., Brian, Addy, Jaxson, Tre; siblings, Betty and her husband Homer Parker, Beth and her husband Gene Herndon, Ann Kinder, Allen Martin and his wife Vera, Lee Martin and his wife Barbara along with other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Osage Cemetery in Agra.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
