Emma Sue Groves was born August 6, 1921 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to John Henry and Lucy J Noble.  She passed away January 28, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 95.

Emma married Forest Dale Groves May 5, 1938 and together raised four children.  They lived in Shawnee where she was active in PTA, Busy Bee Demonstration Club, and enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, quilting, antique car parts and swap meets.  They later moved to Sparks where she served a term as Mayor and was very active in the community.  She divided her time between Sparks and Paradise Hill at Lake Tenkiller, where she continued with crafting, painting, and her bible study group.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Forest Dale “Red” Groves; son, Glen Dale Groves; and grandson, Brian Coppedge.  She is survived by her (3) children and their families, Forest Groves and his wife Patty of Bethany, Shirley and her husband Ken Coppedge of Tulsa, Peggy and her husband Bill Hollis of Sparks; (7) grandchildren; along with many other family and friends.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at the New Zion Cemetery East of Chandler.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
