Earl Wayne Rains was born to Clarence Montgomery and Lillian Pearl (Miller) Rains on June 26, 1932 in Sparks, Oklahoma. He passed away January 17, 2017 in Shawnee at the age of 84. Earl grew up in Sparks where he graduated from Sparks High School in 1951. He served on the Board of Directors for the people of Sparks and the volunteer fire department. He worked for the city of Oklahoma City in the Street Management Department for 37 years. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include his wife of nearly 18 years, Deena (Miller) Rains of the home; son, Brent Rains of Edmond; step-daughter, Rebecca and her husband Preston Fry of Shawnee; (6) grandchildren, Lindsay Rains of Houston, Texas; Hunter Rains of Midland, Texas, Jill Fry of Norman, Bruce Fry of Shawnee, Marla Cooper of Ada, Kayla Miller of Norman; siblings, Charles T. Rains of Sparks, Dorothy Ashenhurst of Paoli and Frank Rains of Chandler; along with other friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following at the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
