Dorothy Louise Grigsby was born April 29, 1943 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to J.C. and Opal (Frunk) Hollingsworth. She passed away June 29, 2019 in Wellston, Oklahoma at the age of 76.
Dorothy grew up in the Holly Creek Community in McCurtain County where she graduated from Dierks High School in Arkansas. She was a long time member of the Charity Baptist Church in Broken Bow and enjoyed baking, crochet, sewing and fishing. Dorothy had recently moved to her daughter’s home in Wellston where she could spend her final months being cared for.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Opal Hollingsworth; husband of 42 years, Robert Grigsby; and her brother, Wayne Hollingsworth. Survivors include her children, Douglas Grigsby and wife Beth of Hawley, Texas, James Travis Grigsby and wife Janice of Henning, Tennessee, Corina Markarian and husband Mark of Wellston, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Camp of Broken Bow; brothers, Carl Hollingsworth and wife Jennie of South Carolina, Charles Hollingsworth and wife Donna of Cameron, Oklahoma; along with other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Donations can be made in honor of Dorothy to Gideon’s International, www.gideons.org/donateitems, or the Idabel American Legion. A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Watson Memorial Cemetery in Broken Bow. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
