Donald Leroy Riley was born June 24, 1943 in Conway, Arkansas to Roy Lee and Ora Mae (Barnett) Riley. He passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Frisco, Texas at the age of 75.
Don grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma and graduated from Edmond Memorial High School with the class of 1961. He played baseball, basketball and football. He was on the NAIA National Championship football team for the Central State College Broncos in 1962. The team was inducted into the University of Central Oklahoma Hall of Fame in November of 2015. His sophomore year of college, he met the love of his life, Patti Lee Pickens. They married on January 25, 1964 at the First Baptist Church in Edmond and had (3) children, (8) grandchildren and (7) great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.
Don retired as a civil engineer prior to moving to Frisco, Texas. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, sister Jane Riley-Buckley, and great-grandson James Nash.
Survivors include his son, Robert Riley and his wife Susan of Tulsa; daughter, Michelle and her husband Joel Towles of Corinth, Texas; son, Brent Riley and his wife Christy of Little Elm, Texas; (5) grandsons, Dillan Towles of Mustang, Joel Byron Towles of Rockett, Texas, Ian Riley of Tulsa, Caleb and Brock Riley of Little Elm, Texas; (3) granddaughters, Nicole Nash of Edmond, Natalie Rousey of Yukon, Megan Towles of Corinth, Texas; and (6) great- grandchildren with more on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Lane Buckley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
