Donald William Carder

Donald William Carder was born on February 25, 1940 in Banner, Oklahoma to James Samuel and Ruby Lorene (Newsom) Carder. He passed away on March 10, 2018 in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Don was always very ornery and kind-hearted. He loved to joke around, but he also had a serious side. He worked in the oilfield most of his life, he cut wood, worked at Oklahoma State University for many years and the last 12 years he farmed.  As a kid, he always wanted a big chocolate bar and his sister Charlene always made sure that he had one.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Carder, his brother Jimmy Carder and son Daniel Wayne Carder. Survivors include his daughter, Jeanne and her husband Patrick Challis of Carney, son, Donnie Carder and his wife, Denise of Fairview, daughter, Melissa Carder Shores of Carney; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his brother, Warren Carder and his wife Evelyn of Edmond, sister Doris and her husband Jerry Sadler of Perkins, sister Maxine Cox of McLoud, Sam Carder and his wife Linda of Chandler, sister Charlene and her husband Jessie Graham of Carney, sister Susie and her husband Mike Messner of Edmond along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Lehman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the First Assembly of God Church in Carney with interment to follow at the Carney Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
