Diane Shaffer

Dean Diane Shaffer was born May 14, 1949 in Huntsville, Alabama to Sam Jones and Elois (Berry) Isbell.  She passed away January 17, 2019 at her home in Wellston at the age of 69.

Diane grew up in Hazel Green, Alabama where she graduate high school with the class of 1967.  She raised 5 children and 1 grandchild by herself.  She was a long-time member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Wellston and loved her God and family.  Diane enjoyed seeing her children’s successes and loved spending time with her grandchildren going to movies, getting manicures, and going on cruises.  She was a sweet, hardworking, caring and stubborn lady.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Jones, Elois Isbell, J.B. Isbell; siblings, Larry Jones, Georgetta Sartin, Sammie Holladay; daughter, Kendle Davenport; and grandson, Kristian Danker.  Survivors include her children, Eddie Bruder (Jeri) of Wellston, Josh Shaffer (Stephanie Porter) of Wellston, Charity Danker of OKC, Jason Shaffer (Crystal) of Wellston; (15) grandchildren, Jacob, Darian, Levi (Alex), Savannah, Dixie, Blake, Kolby, Legend, Isiah, Rain, Essence, Serenity, Leah, Jazmine, Paige; (1) great-grandchild on the way, Naomi; brother, James Isbell; along with many other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Trinity Baptist Church with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.  Reverend Lane Buckley will officiate and arrangements were made with Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
