Dale Hoover was born on January 8, 1937 in Chandler, Oklahoma to David Uriah and Sadie (Sherman) Hoover. He passed away on May 4, 2018 in Chandler at the age of 81.
Dale grew up in Chandler where he graduated from High School with the class of 1954. He was a great Christian man who influenced many people. He loved teaching Sunday school to children and was a leader with the Royal Ambassadors. He enjoyed sports and loved watching his grandchildren play ball games. Dale was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Davenport.
Dale was preceded in death by his by his parents, David and Sadie Hoover; sisters, Essie Mallonee, Wilma Gaylord; brothers, Joseph (Joe) Hoover, Elmo Hoover, Calvin Hoover, Monroe Hoover, Leon Hoover, Bob Hoover, Edward Hoover; infant brothers, Chester Hoover and Elmer Hoover. Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Bales) Hoover of the home; children, Irvin “Dicky” Blakley Jr. and wife Cleta, Harlie “Skip” Blakley and wife Tamara “Tammy”; (3) grandchildren, (8) great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Thronsberry, David Hoover and wife Opal, Leamon Hoover, Peggy Caldwell and husband Doyle, Judy Morningstar and husband Jim, all of Chandler.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Davenport. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston. Donations can be made in Dale’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Davenport.
