Connie Lee (Taylor) Carmichael was born May 26, 1945 in Hardtner, Kansas to Jess Thomas and Grace (Anderson) Taylor. She passed away January 18, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 73.
Connie helped raise her siblings at a young age following the passing of her mother. She grew up in Chandler and later attended Seward County Community College where she earned her associates degree. She lived a challenging life raising 4 children on her own. She worked as many as 3 jobs at one time just to provide for her children. She enjoyed playing the lottery and traveling as the “King of the Road”. Connie was a fantastic aunt to many children whom she loved. She loved her children, and grandchildren with passion.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Grace; siblings, Thomas Taylor, Rita Gibson, and Carol Pierce. Survivors include her children, Alan Carmichael and wife Merri of Arkansas, Richard Carmichael and wife Patricia of Porter, OK, Kevin Carmichael and wife Marie Landwehr of Enid, OK, Tami and husband Michael Byrne of Florida; (10) grandchildren, Miranda, Cory, TaNisha, Scott, Toby, Ashley, Amanda, Amanda, Michael, II, Elizabeth; (12) great-grandchildren, Kathryne, Mason, Gabriel, Luke, Samuel, Abigail, Soren, Jax, Kye, Toby, Jr., Bryson, Annabelle; siblings, Jerry Taylor and wife Martha of OKC, Ruth Ann Pfiester of Wellston; and many other family including nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Officiating is Reverend Ralph Ratliff. The family would like to invite everyone to come and join in a dinner and celebration of Connie’s life to be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Baptist Church of Wellston. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
