Charlotte Kay Butler was born August 2, 1950 in Stillwater to JW Baker and Almeda (Pritchard) Lee. She passed away September 21, 2018 in Stillwater at the age of 68.
Charlotte grew up in Carney where she graduated with the class of 1968. She married Danny Smith and to this union were two sons, James and Charles. They divorced early on and she married Kenny Birdwell who passed away in a ditch cave-in accident early into their marriage.
Charlotte was a waitress and a cook for many years. Her love of taking care of people fell right into place working at different café’s over the years. She worked as a custodian for Perkins Elementary School where she loved the job and the kids for 12 years until retirement. Charlotte loved to fish, camp, be at the lake, and play bingo but also loved being at home surrounded by family, friends and extended family. She was always taking care of people and loved to cook for them.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her dad, JW; sister, Brenda; husband, Kenny Birdwell; grandparents, Almus and Novella Baker, and Gus and Thresa Pritchard. Survivors include her sons, James Smith and daughter-in-law Angie, Charles Smith; (5) grandchildren, Kayla, Dalton, Taylor, Colton, and Kenzie; mother, Almeda Lee and bonus dad George “Bill” Lee; brother, Gary Baker and wife Sandy; nieces, Stephanie Pittser and Teri Clark; nephews, Jay Baker and Michael Thompson; great nieces and nephews, many more family and friends and was so excited about a great granddaughter due in January.
