Carrol Franklin Staley

Carrol Franklin Staley was born on October 10, 1941 in Oklahoma City to Benjamin Franklin and Edna Leona (Downey) Staley.  He passed away on January 31, 2018 in Luther at the age of 76.

Carrol graduated from Dale High School with the class of 1960 where he was the FFA President.  He worked as a framing contractor, builder and designer for many years building homes in Wellston, Oak Tree and Galardia.  He even had a home that he designed featured in an architecture magazine.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and will be remembered for his beautiful garden.  Carrol enjoyed helping people, often giving money to people at Christmas time without them even knowing about it.  Carrol was the Patriarch of the Staley family and his death has left a huge void.

Carrol is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles William Staley.  Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sharon (Worthy) Staley of the home; children, Colyn Staley of the home, Sherrie Staley of Oklahoma City, Susie and her husband Zack Williamson of Hillstown, Texas, Stephanie Armitage of Madison, Mississippi; (4) grandchildren, (5) great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley DeVore, Leona and her husband Harold Wood, Margaret Whitworth, Jerold Staley, Lawrence Staley, Frank Staley and his wife Teresa, Betty and her husband Steve Huff, Patty and her husband Donnie Ferrell, along with other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at the Living Waters Pentecostal Church in Meeker at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
