Bobby Don Evans was born September 12, 1926 in his home in Chandler 1 of 13 children. He passed away June 18, 2019 in Elk City at the age of 92.
Bob grew up in rural Wellston where he worked on farms in the area. He married Mary Bone in 1945 and they raised 4 children together. He briefly worked on the pipeline and later worked in agriculture in California. Upon returning to Oklahoma he worked at Seaba’s Machine Shop in Warwick and then Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in the early 1980’s. He enjoyed coon hunting with his dogs.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Margaret Evans; son, Jack Evans and 11 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Mary (Bone) Evans of the home; children, Brenda Kay Danker of Wellston, Carroll Evans and his wife Pam of Marietta, Janet and her husband Steve Gay of Wellston; brother, Dean Evans of Longview, Texas; (9) grandchildren; (15) great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren along with many other family members and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston officiated by Reverend Lane Buckley and interment following in the Star Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
