Beverely Jo Trower was born May 22, 1932 in Peru, Indiana to Herman D and Hazel (Helvie) Saltz. She passed away on October 13, 2018 in Shawnee at the age of 86.
Beverely grew up in Peru, Indiana where she graduated High School. She married Dean Houser and they raised (4) children together. She contracted polio in 1952 and conquered and persevered the rest of her life. She moved to Williamston, Michigan where she worked as a librarian in a public library and later at the Michigan State University Library. Later she married Tandy Trower and they lived in Tacoma, Washington before moving to North Manchester, Indiana. Tandy’s health brought them to Oklahoma to be close to family.
Following his death, she moved onto her sons land in Wellston, where she enjoyed life crafting, reading, watching sports and old movies and playing with her grandchildren.
Beverley is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Dean Houser and Tandy Trower; daughter, Terrie Greathouse; brother, Richard Saltz. Survivors include her children, Steve Houser and his wife, Ginny of Michigan, Mike Houser and his wife Linda Michigan, Russell Houser and his wife Tessie of Wellston; Tandy W. Trower, II and his wife Susan of Washington State; son-in-law, Rick Greathouse of Virginia; (11) grandchildren, Missy, Greg, Jessica, Kevin, Erin, Rachael, Philip, Lydia, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Matt; siblings, Ronald Gene Saltz, Barbara Bridegroom and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
