Alvis Larnce Osburn was born August 30, 1929 in Wewoka and passed away January 4, 2020 at the age of 90. Alvis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War Campaign. He later dedicated 40 years working hard in the oil fields followed by 13 years with Schwan’s. He was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Davenport who loved people and God. Alvis quoted scripture up until the day he passed. He had a love of animals, music, playing guitar, restoring and working on cars, and dancing with his wife every Friday night for more than 20 years at the Cushing Senior Citizens Center.
Alvis was preceded in death by his parents, James and Othelia (Perry) Osburn; sister, Eulean Saulsberry; brothers, Bud Osburn, James Osburn, and Vernon Osburn. Survivors include his wife of nearly 64 years, Jeweldene (Duffy) Osburn of the home; daughter, Jonita and husband Curtis Phipps; grandchildren, Dax Phipps and wife Jennifer, Jade Phipps; great-grandchildren, Mia and Daxton all of Chandler; along with many other family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Miller officiating and interment following in the Oak Park Cemetery of Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
