William Leon Winsworth was born on September 6, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Glenn Edward and Hattie Loubell (Blain) Winsworth. He passed away on April 6, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83.
William grew up on a farm in Sparks. He enjoyed traveling the world during a long career in the Navy. After his Naval retirement he returned to Sparks in 1975, worked in the oil field, and served as president of the White Dove Cemetery board. He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his family traveling, camping and anything that could be done on a boat. He looked forward to hay season so he could get back on a tractor to help his neighbors.
William is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 61 years, Joan (Pennington) Winsworth; sister, Glenna Logue. Survivors include his son, Robert Winsworth and his wife Dee of Little, Oklahoma, James Winsworth and his wife Jackie of Meeker, Bill Winsworth; (5) grandchildren, (10) great-grandchildren; his brother, Lloyd Winsworth and his wife, Ida of Colleyville, Texas; along with other family and friends.
A visitation with be held from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the funeral home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
