Ira Wayne Wilkerson was born November 4, 1940 in Alex, Oklahoma to Simmie Leo and Edith Margaret (Crawford) Wilkerson. He passed away November 27, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76.

Ira is preceded in death by his parents who have already reached the streets of gold; wife of 49 years, Maxine Wilkerson; mother-in-law, Clara Mae Beauchamp; both sets of grandparents of the Wilkerson family; and grandparents of the Crawford family; brothers-in-law, Burton Beauchamp, Jerry Dodson, and Bruce Dodson; sister-in-law, Rita Jo Dodson; and grandson Arec Moore; survivors include, son, David Ray Wilkerson of Luther; daughter, Sheryl and her husband Rick Kincaid; daughter, Jodi Lee Wilkerson all of Luther, Oklahoma; son, Michael Wayne Wilkerson and his wife, Kim of Lexington, Oklahoma; sister, Bernice and her husband Ramus Hicks of Clinton, Oklahoma; brother, Lonnie Wilkerson and his wife, Betty of Carney, Oklahoma; sister, Yvonna Dodson of Moore, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, John D. Beauchamp and his wife, Louise of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; grandchildren and this spouses, Necia Hansen and her husband Mark of Kent, Washington, ReAnna Kincaid, Richard Kincaid, II, Scott Shupert and his wife, Stephanie of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Sheena and her husband Aaron Compton of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Matthew Shupert and his wife Crystal of Calara, Oklahoma, Marki and her husband Joseph Graham of Perry, Oklahoma, Colton Wilkerson of Athens, Texas, Kaylee Wilkerson of Hardy, Arkansas, Fonzie and his wife, Lanna Hickman of Moore, Oklahoma, Dereck and his wife, Sable Hickman of Lindsey, Oklahoma; (27) great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; along with very special friend Carolyn Martin who was married to Wayne’s very best friend Richard Martin, who has made his final resting place in Heaven.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following in the Luther Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
