Sherman Edison Bailey was born October 9, 1931 in Davenport, Oklahoma to Owen Jasper Bailey and Lula Mae (Cox). Sherman grew up in the homestead house, 3 miles north of Davenport, Oklahoma where he farmed for numerous years. Sherman served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He passed away October 15, 2016 at the Chandler Nursing Center at the age of 85. Sherman is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bea; brothers, Robert (Bob), Clyde, Roscoe (Bud); sisters, Mona Woods, Marie McElfresh, Ann Campbell-Young; survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Davenport Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
