Robert L. (Papa Bob) Snyder was born on May 31, 1946 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Louis Jasper and Clara Jean (Baxendale) Snyder.  God took our beloved Papa by the hand, called his name and took him home on August 19, 2017 in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 71.

Bob moved to California at the age of 2.  He attended North High School and graduated with the class of 1964.  In 1965 Bob was drafted into the Army as an Air Transportation Serviceman and proudly serving in the Vietnam War and returned home in 1968.  Later, in 1986 he met Carol (Rackley).  They were married on May 18, 1990 and made their home in Chandler.

In 2006 Bob retired from Trans World Airlines, obtained his CLEET Certification and went to work for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office as a jailer.  For the last (3) years, Bob worked for Hubs Vending Company.  Bob’s favorite job of all time was being blessed to be called Papa by his (8) grandchildren and (7) great-grandchildren.  Bob loved traveling the world with his family and enjoyed playing softball, bowling, skiing the Alps, and was fortunate to have visited 44 of the 50 states.  He was an avid Oklahoma Football fan who proudly wore crimson and cream from head to toe.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; survivors include his wife, Carol Snyder of the home; children, Treasa and her husband Joe Cornett of Tulsa, Crush Estrada of Arizona, Laura Estrada of Davenport, Oklahoma; siblings, Karen Sue Fossum and Lauri Marie Jamison of California; along with other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with a private interment following in the Tom Farrell Community Cemetery in Harrah.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
