Marvin Wayne McLain was born July 15, 1937 in Spokane, Washington to James McLain and Helen (Fisk). He passed away peacefully in Wellston December 25, 2017 at the age of 80.
Wayne was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a faithful Christian man who loved Jesus with all his heart. Wayne proudly served his country for 12 years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He was a longtime member of the Wellston United Methodist Church and founding member of Lincoln County Rural Water District #3 where he was still actively serving. Wayne loved his church, and his town. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, country and western music, and his place south of town.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Helen; step mother, Lil McLain; sister-in-law, Linda McLain; and nephew, Jimmy McLain. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Geneva (Graham) McLain of the home; children, Steve McLain and wife Nancy of Chandler, Mike McLain and wife Penny of Wellston, Angie Lehman of Wellston; son-in-law, Todd Lehman; (8) grandchildren, Wes McLain (Christine), Kayla Nunn (Aaron), Shane McLain, Raechel O’Day (John), Caitie Jackson (Garrett), Brinley McLain, Remy Lehman (Maria), Rudy Lehman; numerous great-grandchildren and extended family; and his brother, Ray McLain.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon till 7:00 p.m. with the family greeting guests from 5:00 till 7:00. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
