Lillie Mae McLain was born September 6, 1925 near Shamrock, Texas to George Benton Sloss and Laura Elizabeth (Bunch).  She passed away March 18, 2017 in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 91.

Lil married Jim McLain and inherited a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family members.  If ever facing a challenge in life, she would always say, “This shall come to pass”.  She was a long time member of the Wellston United Methodist Church.  She attended the Wellston Senior Citizens daily where she enjoyed playing dominos.  Lil enjoyed drawing with colored pencils.

Lil was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 33 years, Jim McLain; grandson, Jimmy McLain; daughter-in-law, Linda McLain; four sisters, Arre Ellen Sizemore, Venice Myrtle Wright, Ruth Wilcox, Emma Gene Holcomb; two brothers, G.B. Sloss, Jr., Thomas Jackson Sloss.  Survivors include Jim’s two sons, Wayne McLain and his wife Geneva, Ray McLain; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Wellston First United Methodist Church with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
