James Calvin Bordwine was born October 28, 1939 in Nowata, Oklahoma to John Henry and Jessie (Raines) Bordwine. He passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the age of 77.
James grew up in Bartlesville where he worked on parent’s dairy farm. He later moved to Meeker and opened a filling station, garage and a diner. He then spent nearly 12 years as a fireman in Midwest City and eventually owned and operated a trucking company until he retired. He loved animals, his children and grandchildren. James and his wife trained Percheron horses to wagons and trailers.
James is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Branham; grandson, Jeremy James John Bordwine; (4) brothers, Earl Proctor, Charles Proctor, Johnny Proctor and Bob Proctor. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Taylor) Bordwine of the home; children, Jimmy Bordwine and his fiancé, Brenda Anderson of Calvin, Vicki and her husband Roland Magar of Wellston; (4) grandchildren, Nikkisha Sheldon, Chelsey Branham, Jameson Magar, Jacob Magar; (2) great-grandchildren, Ryhs Shelton and Symphony Shelton; along with other family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends and loved ones on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Horton Chapel with interment to follow at the Rossville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
