Avis Victory McAdoo was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on November 6, 1921 to J. O. and May (Austin) Varner. She passed away in Meeker, Oklahoma on July 19, 2017 at the age of 95.

Avis enjoyed quilting, was a talented artist and was a world traveler. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was also a best friend to many.

Avis is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Soudie; husband of over 50 years, Humphrey L. McAdoo, Sr.; survivors include her son, H.L. McAdoo, Jr. and his wife, Susie of Noble; daughter, Mary Clore of Chandler; (7) grandchildren, Tamera and her husband Darcy Winter, Tonya Jo and her husband, Melvin Hassler, Dana and her husband Jeff Peavey, Shawn and her husband Andy Hosner, Trina Klaus, Dean Clore and his wife Gina, Eric McAdoo and his wife Ruth, along with other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017   in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following in the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
